Benedict Kelly, owner of B.E.N. Inc (Balance-Exercise-Nutrition), is FITNESS! Ben grew up in Australia playing Rugby League and has played professionally in France, Australia and the USA. He has represented USA in 6 internationals and has won 4 National Championships in 4 years since coming to the states. Benedict studied Sport Science at Sydney University and holds the esteemed CHEK Institute’s Exercise Coach Certification with certifications on Scientific Core Conditioning and Scientific Back Training along with Advanced Program Design.

Jason Leydon, owner of Underground 2, is WELLNESS! Jason grew up right here in Milford, Connecticut. He has been around fitness his whole life and has experienced many trainers as he worked up to his dream of playing professional basketball in Europe. Jason received his degree in Physical Education in Health from Eastern Connecticut State University. Jason is always studying and increases his knowledge in the fitness industry. He believes wellness is achieving a sound balance between body, mind, and spirit.

Multi-Disciplinary Approach

Ben and Jason have a structured an 8 week program encompassing everything in health and wellness. The workouts will consist of “metabolic resistant training.” This is using resistant training exercises, and instead of adjusting load, sets or reps to focus on strength versus hypertrophy, we adjust load, time under tension and rep speed to focus on more metabolic demands. In our experience this is the fastest and most time efficient way to drop body-fat and out performs any other method.

A complete RESULTS program typically has five parts:

  1. Mental Peak Performance
  2. Evaluation
  3. Program Design
  4. Program Instruction
  5. Program Progression

Mental Peak Performance

In addition to the physical and nutritional conditioning you will undergo in this program you will also gain the mindset required to create extraordinary results. Peak performance expert Rich Kuepper of L.E.A.D. USA will teach you how to turn obstacles into opportunities, your dreams into reality. Rich is a leadership coach, helping some of the worlds top companies get the best performance out of their people and he will do the same for you. Rich has a deep understanding of the mind/body connection and he will give you the "edge" to be the best you ever.

Evaluation

Ben and Jason will evaluate the following areas to accumulate the information necessary to design your individual, highly specific program:

  • History of injury
  • Exercise history
  • Posture & Gait
  • Joint range of motion
  • Muscle balance
  • Lifestyle assessment
  • Joint Stability
  • Flexibility
  • Functional movement patterns
  • Coordination
  • Strength
  • Current nutritional habits

Program Design

After the assessment Ben and Jason will consider your findings and how they affect the attainment of your goals. They will then carefully design your own unique corrective program targeting postural imbalances and core deficiencies. The program will be three, one hour sessions per week. These sessions will take place on Tuesday and Thursday morning at 5:30a.m, as well as Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m. Ben and Jason will put you through a rigorous performance exercise program consisting of strength, power, speed and agility. All clients will be required to wear Polar Heart Rate monitors at every session. These sessions will take place at Underground 2, LLC and at various outdoor venues (determined by Ben and Jason). You will also be counseled extensively on nutrition and lifestyle modifications that will be extremely helpful in helping you reach your goals. The highest level nutrition plan will be implemented and is to be adhered to strictly for optimum results.

Program Instruction

You will be personally guided through each specific stretch and exercise that has been developed for you to progressively obtain your goal. Since our programs are very comprehensive, and individualized, Ben and Jason may videotape your program instruction upon request to achieve maximum results.

B.E.N. Inc and Underground 2, LLC are committed to helping you achieve your goals within your own parameters. We will be monitoring your individual performance and be asking for maximum enthusiasm throughout. No negativity allowed!!!
