Sunless Tanning – Why Is It Better for Your Skin?

The sun’s rays are known to be strong, and the damaging effect they have on our skin is permanent. SPF creams and sunblock are widely used today to prevent those harmful UV rays from getting to us. That said, however, we are not less enamored with a tan today than we were half-a-century ago. We want a healthy, light-bronze glow on our skin in summer time, or, if possible, all year long. So we look for options that we hope will not damage or skin and provide us with the color we want. But the truth is – not all tanning is harmless.

If you considered going to a salon that utilizes tanning or sun beds for sunless tanning, you may want to reconsider your decision. According to the US Public Health Service, UV radiation produced by the use of sun lamps and sun beds, causes cancer. The risk of getting cancer from the usage of tanning beds is higher in people over 30. In addition, the overexposure to indoor tanning devices can cause cataracts, suppression of the immune system and premature skin aging. The damage done to skin by the sun lamps can far exceed the damage done by the sun rays while you tan outdoors. For instance, women who visited tanning salon only once a month were 55% more likely to develop melanoma than those who did not. Young women in their 20 were even more vulnerable to the harmful effects of sun bed tanning – their risk of having cancer increased by 150% compared to the young women who did not tan.

Equipped with this knowledge, you may want to start searching for another tanning option, and you’re likely to find that sunless spray tanning is as widely offered in beauty salons across the country as many other options. Put all your concerns aside because spray-on tan is indeed the safest alternative to sunbathing. Tan sprays that are on the market today contain dihydrixyacetone – DHA – which is a chemical derived from glycerin and is completely safe when used externally. The way the spray tan works is very simple. DHA reacts with amino acids of dead skin cells and produces a temporary color change. The bronzing effect lasts for up to ten days (depending on skin type), fading gradually as new skin cells continue to form. DHA is the only FDA-approved skin-tinting additive. Spray tans that contain DHA do not age your skin or cause skin cancer. It is not recommended that DHA is used internally, so avoid having sun tan get into your eyes, nose or mouth. Wear protective goggles and a nose clip while you are sprayed.

Voted by Citysearch as one of Top Ten Salons for sunless tanning in 2009, the José Luis Salon provides beautiful tan in minutes without any damage to your skin. The salon uses Sun FX tanning solution, which is one of the best natural sunless tan products on the market today. The José Luis Salon’s team of tan artists is ready to transform your skin and offer suggestions on before- and after-tanning treatments.

E-Cigarettes – Better for the Environment

E-Cigarettes are More Environmentally Friendly than Tobacco Cigarettes

With more and more people out there trying to cut back on pollution and help the environment, as some would call it “going green”, a new and innovative approach to cigarettes is sweeping the world by storm. Electronic cigarettes are a great way to help better the environment. Taking a look at this new approach, studies have been conducted that predict that some time during the next few years that there will be a lot of smokers that turn to this particular option. E-cigarettes are apparently the way to go if you are going to smoke. There are several different ways that this type of cigarette helps the environment.

First of all, when it comes to people throwing out their cigarette butts, there are a lot of people that do this many times a day. Most people do not bother putting them into trash receptacles. Instead, they get thrown out of car windows, thrown down on the ground beside buildings and also thrown down in parking lots. This all adds to the amount of litter that accumulates on the earth. Litter, however, is not the only problem that we face when it comes to cigarettes.

Cigarettes contain nasty chemicals that can be poisonous and even deadly in large quantities. A lot of good can come from eliminating this gaseous waste that is put off by cigarettes and tobacco products. The best electric cigarettes are used by actually inhaling propylene glycol instead of tobacco, which is not nearly as harmful to the environment.

If you are looking to buy e-cigarettes in order to help promote a cleaner environment and less polluted air, then you should take some time to read up on the many different electronic cigarette reviews, specifically the Blu e-cig reviews. Reading these reviews will help you to get a better understanding of the product and how other people who have tried it out feel about it. Most people say that these e-cigarettes look, feel and taste like regular traditional cigarettes.

Once you realize that you are ready to “go green” when it comes to your smoking habits, then you should get started with one of the great electric cigarette starter kits. Not only will you find everything that you need to get started, but you will also get a great carrying case. This can be handy, especially for people who are not used to this type of cigarette.

If you are worried about the costs associated with this type of cigarette, then you should take the time to look for some great electronic cigarette promo codes. These coupons can help you to not only save money, but also find the best products. There are many different manufacturers out there, and you are sure to find one that you like. Taking the time to see how these great cigarettes will help benefit you and your environment is just getting you one step closer when it comes to making the world a better and healthier place to live.

Quick Pain Relief with Tramadol

Tramadol for Quick Pain Relief
Chronic Pain Relievers

Tramadol Benefits

Relieving Muscle Pain

If you suffer from chronic lower back pain, you might be prescribed Tramadol for lower back pain. Tramadol is also used for managing short term pain such as that encountered following surgery. Tramadol is the generic name of drug known by the brand name Ultram. Tramadol is a synthetic medication developed in the 1970’s when it was marketed under the name “Tramal.” As anyone who has ever suffered nagging pain knows, the only good thing about pain is its absence. If you aren’t already familiar with Tramadol, please click here for more information.

Tramadol is available in two formulations to mitigate severe-moderate pain levels, regular for short term pain and ER (extended release) for chronic, long term pain. Both formulations relieve pain symptoms quickly; pain often dissipates within 30 minutes. Tramadol is an analgesic, narcotic like drug. It is not an opiate however; it is a member of a family of medications referred to as opiate agonists. Opiate agonists alter the way the brain senses pain; basically the drug tricks the brain into thinking there is no pain by blocking pain receptors. The extended release formula is only taken once every 24 hours where as the regular formula must be taken every 4-6 hours to be effective. Tramadol is always prescribed in an easy to swallow tablet form.

Never split, crush or chew Tramadol ER tablets; they must be swallowed intact to be effective for a full 24 hours. Never crush and dissolve Tramadol ER for injection; extremely serious side effects and possibly death can occur.

Tramadol is potentially addictive much like narcotic drugs. Never take larger or more frequent doses than what you are prescribed to minimize the possibility of side effects. Use this drug with caution and follow your doctor’s instructions faithfully.

When your doctor prescribes either form of Tramadol, buy Tramadol online for the best pricing. Don’t buy Tramadol or Tramadol ER from the first site you run across offering “cheap Tramadol” and don’t be sucked in by sites that advertise “Tramadol no prescription necessary.” The truth is, you should do a little research before buying Tramadol (or any other drug) online. In fact, you should do research before you buy tamiflu, non-addictive Rozerem or fioricet online.

Search for an online pharmacy that is licensed; make sure that the contact information (phone number, physical address, mailing address and preferable e-mail) is complete and viable. When you are ready to purchase Tramadol online, don’t be fooled by the sites that advertise Tramadol with no prescription. While it is true that you can order Tramadol from these sites without a prescription, they will not fill the order until your order is approved by the website’s prescribing doctor. You are required to fill out and submit an online form detailing your “symptoms” and asking for the Tramadol or Tramadol ER; the online doctor approves your request by writing an online prescription so the order can be shipped. You must have a prescription to obtain any form of Tramadol.

Be up front with your doctor about any other supplement or drugs you may take, allergies you suffer and past addictions so that they can prescribe the medication that is best for you. Anyone who has been addicted to drugs or alcohol in the past should never be prescribed Tramadol since it can be addictive. Make your doctor aware of any head injuries or if you are subject to seizures. Only by being completely honest about your medical history and habits can you expect good pain management from your doctor. Tramadol pain medication and Tramadol ER are wonderful drugs for managing pain. Treat them with respect; follow your doctor’s instructions faithfully to minimize the possibility of side effects or addiction.

The Beginning to a Great Party

Beginning to a Great Party

It is no secret that the beginning of a successful party always begins with the atmosphere. While this may seem like a secondary priority when it comes to party planning, it is the first thing that your guests see when they walk in the door and it is the last thing they see when they leave. It is important that you always make a great first impression for any social gathering that you are hosting, whether it is for a child’s birthday party or an elegant dinner. One of the best ways to get the right decorations for a party is by using one of the many party retail outlets that are available both online and locally.

An online party outlet will give you a larger selection than a local retailer because they do not have the overhead of a more traditional outlet. It is important to first decide on a theme for your social gathering before you start to search for your decorations. Once you have a general idea of the type of party that you want to host, then it is time to do a little research online at one of the many party decoration websites. This type of website will not only allow you to purchase your supplies, but it will also give you ideas on some of the best decorations to match your theme and the average age of the party’s participants.

The second most important part of a party is that all of the decorations are age appropriate. This will allow your guests to be completely at ease while enjoying the social atmosphere. This can be easily done if you use one of the many online outlets. Each of these websites will allow you to search for decorations not only by theme, but by age range. This will take a lot of the guess work out of planning the decorations for your party.

When it comes to ordering the decorations for your party, it is also important not to forget the accessories. Things such as party favors that are appropriate for your party add a little something extra to the festivities that will leave your guests asking for the time and location of your next function. This is only one of the aspects to a successful party; however, it is the foundation that all great social events are built upon.

Once you have the decorations and party favors for your event, then it is time to work on all of the other aspects of a great party. It is important that the music, food and all of the other aspects of your party match, or at the very least, compliment your decorations. The decorations themselves will help you solidify your theme and the rest of the party will actually just fall into place. Now that the decorations and the rest of the party are put together, there is only one thing left to do and that is enjoy the evening. Remember that a relaxed and engaging host or hostess is the only way to make every party a success.

Comfort and Confidence is Sexy

Comfort and Confidence is Sexy

If you worry whether your lingerie is sexy enough, maybe you are thinking about it from the wrong angle. It is generally accepted that being comfortable with yourself is extremely attractive, so it follows that being comfortable in your lingerie is more attractive than being uncomfortable in it. If the most beautiful woman in the world is uncomfortable in her clothes, she will not appear to be as attractive as the less beautiful woman beside her who is perfectly at ease.

Now, don’t get me wrong – I’m not saying that there is no place for sexy lingerie in a woman’s life. Personally I’m a big fan of sexy underwear and I wear mine as often as possible. However, when shopping for lingerie, you should search for lingerie that you are comfortable in and happy wearing. Lace is beautiful, but badly done, it can really itch. If something starts to itch or is otherwise annoying in the changing room, don’t buy it. Being annoyed for two minutes in the changing room is nothing compared to being uncomfortable for a full working day or a dinner date. If you are uncomfortable after wearing the item for two minutes, put it down and look for something else.

Sexy intimates do not have to be uncomfortable. Nothing feels nicer against your skin than smooth, luxurious silk. Silk is a fabric commonly used in racy lingerie. By itself, silk is not uncomfortable. It’s what the designer does with the silk that can turn it into your worst nightmare. Lace, ribbons, trims of any kind should all be added so as to not irritate your skin in any way. The parts of your body covered by lingerie are the most sensitive and delicate ones – they need to be treated gently, which includes covering them with gentle fabrics.

Apart from physical comfort, your lingerie should provide emotional comfort. You may look awesome in that leather bustier, but your look may be a little too awesome for your comfort. Sexy lingerie is meant to provoke a certain image, but if the image you provoke is not comfortable for you, then go find something else. If you feel that you look like a prostitute and you feel uncomfortable with that look, get out of the outfit and look for something you are comfortable with. It’s your body; wear what makes you feel right. Doubtless, your partner will enjoy whatever intimate apparel you select.

And last but not least, why do you feel uncomfortable? If you think an outfit makes you look like a prostitute and you don’t want to look like a prostitute, fair enough. But if you feel uncomfortable because you think you look like a prostitute and you actually like it, buy the thing! Lingerie is about bringing out the real you – after all, only you need to see it. If you like the look of the woman in the mirror, then jump from your comfort zone and see where it leads. You might be surprised at where you end up.

Top 5 Factors for a Beautiful Smile

Rose Colors

A smile may not be the first thing we think about when picturing our friends, family, and loved ones, but it’s one of the first things we look at when actually face to face. In fact, a smile is one of the most important aspects of overall appearance, and a truly beautiful set of teeth and supporting gums can go a long way towards boosting anybody’s attraction power, while a smile marred with chips, cavities, or gum problems can detract from an otherwise healthy look. Cosmetic dentistry has been developed over the course of several years to blend the distinct knowledge of dentists with orthodontists and other specialists for the purpose of creating great smiles, even for those who are experiencing several dental problems. There are a few different aspects that go into the whole of a beautiful grin, each of which can be addressed with the help of a dedicated dental care professional. Here’s our top five:

Color. Teeth whitening has been enjoying a significant popularity among people lately, with over the counter treatments creating a big niche in the personal care market. Whether stained through years of tobacco use or simply tarnished a bit thanks to a fondness for daily lattes, teeth can easily become less than pearly-white. In-office whitening treatments and the availability of professional take-home whitening kits are great tools for achieving this smile essential.

Gums. Receding gums are a common issue, and there are many possible causes, from actual gum disease to an over-zealous brushing regimen. Whether gums are shrinking away or are instead over-abundant, modern gum surgery techniques are perfect for getting this smile factor just right. You can check with a qualified periodontic surgeon to find out if laser gum surgery or other types of treatments may be right for you.

Chips. Chipped teeth are sometimes unavoidable, but that doesn’t mean you can’t restore a tooth to its former glory. With the help of bonding or ceramic veneers, dentists can create solutions that help protect teeth from further damage and also look good as new.

Alignment. If you never had braces as a child, your teeth might be slightly mis-aligned; while this isn’t an issue for some people, others feel that it adds an unpleasant aspect to their smile. Thankfully, a new type of invisible braces called Invisalign can help address slightly crooked or “off” teeth without the hassle and potentially uncomfortable appearance of traditional braces.

Regular Cleanings. Even the most well-kept teeth should be treated to a visit to the dentist’s office every now and then for a cleaning and routine check-up. Your dentist can give special attention to any problem areas, give your teeth a beautiful polish, help remove plaque build-up, and make sure you’re free of cavities and other issues, all while adding to the health of your smile. When you give your teeth and gums the attention they deserve, you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful grin.

Choosing Your Roses Wisely – What Colors Mean

Rose Colors

Roses are some of the world’s most popular flowers for sending and sharing during a wide variety of major occasions as well as for those personal moments that celebrate a special memory or event in your own life or the life of a loved one. From long stemmed varieties to short poesies, tight sculptural bouquets to arrangements incorporating foliage and other floral design elements, roses are much appreciated for their classic beauty, divine fragrance, and deep meaning capable of showing friends, family, and special people in your life that you truly care. But while personal preferences for various colors of roses vary greatly from person to person, there’s also a traditional meaning behind each shade. When you order your roses online for affordable and swift delivery to the location of your choice at mailflowers.com, you can use this guide to help you choose the most appropriate rose color for your recipient as well as the occasion at hand.

Red roses are by far the most widely requested and well-loved flowers on the market. Many occasions, especially Valentine’s Day, have a strong connection with this color of bloom. From fiery, bright reds to deep, captivating scarlets, red roses are bold and present a powerful statement of your affection in any arrangement or combination. While these stems can cost a bit more during different seasons, their premium price is worth the reaction you’ll get when you send these beautiful, classic red roses. Pink roses are close behind the classic red as traditional flowers that win over many hearts. Pink roses are typically available in three different shades, to suit the taste of the recipient as well as the specific reason for sending the bouquet. Pale pink roses communicate gratitude and convey a sense of gentleness; light pink roses carry a bit more fun and can be a great expression of joy. Deep pink roses, on the other hand, are sensual and associated with romance.

“Fire and Ice” roses, are blooms that fade from a deep color along the petal tips to a more neutral hue as they meet the stem. They have become increasingly popular in recent years and portray a passionate statement perfect for romantic occasions as well as for a burst of color and drama for a loved one’s birthday or following an impressive achievement. Yellow roses classically convey congratulations and are great for graduations, while coral roses exude intrigue and passion with their rare and vibrant tones. Peach roses are perfect for saying thank you as well as expressing sympathy, and white roses typically symbolize innocence. Of course, there are other modern takes on rose colors, such as bouquets of blues and the arrangements of cream and green blooms, these colors are great for recipients who have a clear color preference for their flowers. But if you’re stumped, count on these traditional meanings to help you get your message across.

Engagement Rings for Men

Engagement Rings for Men

Traditionally, it has been only the engaged woman that wore an engagement ring. It is not uncommon today to find women proposing to men rather than waiting for the man to propose. While the idea of men wearing an engagement ring is popular in some geographic areas, other areas have not yet caught on to the idea. So, before buying your man an engagement ring, discuss the idea with him to see if he would wear such a ring.

In the event the man does not like the idea of wearing an obvious engagement ring, you could opt to present him a beautiful men’s ring that serves the same purpose of both privately and publicly declaring the relationship this couple shares and their intent to marry.

Men’s engagement rings are not as elaborately designed as women’s rings. They do not have the pronged settings and other features that would interfere with work or sports. Simple bands with engraving, etching or other minimal design are the norm for men’s engagement rings. It is common for the woman to have a meaningful note engraved inside the band where it is not obvious.

For those men who prefer more intricately designed rings, the choice of a two tone mixed metal ring, such as one implementing white and yellow gold or bronze, makes a spectacular ring without using any gems for color. Rings whose surfaces have been engraved with elaborate textured patterns are a very popular choice among men’s engagement rings. A ring band inlaid with different metal alloys results in a very distinctive, subtly beautiful ring. Titanium bands have become a very hot choice mostly because the metal can show very brilliant color, such as blue and purple.

Unlike women’s diamond engagement rings that generally are either solitaire, or highlight one diamond over the others, men’s engagement rings are most likely to be multiple same size diamonds, channel set into the band of the ring. The channel set is preferable for men as the stones are set to recess in a “channel,” and thus be less likely to suffer damage. There are some men’s engagement rings that are designed with a solitaire diamond. It is normal with a solitaire diamond in a man’s engagement ring to offset to one corner of a square ring, or deeply set into a wide band. Diamonds in a man’s engagement ring are not the scene stealer as in a women’s engagement ring. The diamond in an engagement ring for a man is for the sentiment, not for the bling.

Some men prefer an engagement ring with gemstones rather than diamond, or no stone setting. Among this type ring, the most popular choice is a ring with the birthstone of the bride and groom and perhaps a few small diamonds to emphasize the color of the gemstones. One gem not found in men’s engagement rings is the pearl. Pearls are very easily damaged and are not amenable to channel sets. Pearls are a poor selection for a man’s ring. Men are wearing engagement rings for the same reason engaged women wear them ~ to publicly announce to the world their intent to marry and share the love for their partner for the rest of time.

Creating Opportunities for Enjoyment

Many people have a list of things they’ve always wanted to do, or always wanted to spend more time at. These might be hobbies that they tried a few times and really enjoyed, but for which they just never found enough time. When most people look back on their lives, the time they spend doing the things that they enjoy most are the times they remember most vividly and with the greatest emotion. Enjoying life is really about building as many of these memories as possible in the time available. Making time for leisure and enjoyment should be a top priority.

Many people enjoy the game of golf, they may have played a few rounds here and there over the years and always wanted to practice and play enough to improve their game, but somehow just never got around to it. Yet, there are things that can be done as part of anyone’s everyday life that can increase the opportunities to pursue these little desires that everyone harbors. Using golf as an example, the biggest choice one can make is to make sure that when they buy their next house, it is close to a golf course, or better yet, adjacent to the course.

Living right next to the golf course means that one can walk out their back door whenever they have a spare 45 minutes or an hour, and play a few holes. There’s no travel time or packing up the clubs into the car, just tee up and play. The opportunities to play golf become endless. We create opportunities in our lives by the choices we make.

Too often we make decisions based on things we don’t really enjoy. Is the new house close to the office, how are property values in that neighborhood trending, and other pragmatic considerations. Instead, major decisions should be largely based on how much enjoyment and richness they add to our lives. Instead of worrying about potential resale value, ask if you’ll enjoy living in this home. If you enjoy being there, then resale value becomes irrelevant since you’ll never want to leave.

Living next to a golf course isn’t just about golf. Think about it, you have a virtual guarantee that the wide open spaces around you will never be built up. Rolling fairways, tree-lined grasslands, ponds and all the beautiful natural scenery that goes along with a golf course will be there in your backyard for as long as you own your house. It’s a great place for those interested in bird watching, or people watching for that matter.

People who live in golf course homes are people who have their priorities straight. Make it easy to enjoy yourself, and everything else will fall into place.

Room Acoustic Treatments

Room Acoustic Treatments

When you are building or remodeling a room in which sound is important, the acoustic properties of the room should be taken into account during the planning. This applies not only to auditoriums and music halls, but also to spaces in which intelligible speech needs to be heard by large groups, such as restaurants, churches and other public buildings.

The room acoustic treatments required for different types of buildings may differ greatly. If you own a nightclub or other establishment where there is live music or other loud noise as a regular part of your operation, then your needs are two- fold, you want the sound to be clear on the inside and virtually non-existent for neighboring businesses. Acoustic Insulation is almost certainly required to help contain the music within your establishment. Acoustic insulation, bass traps, or other acoustic panels can also help keep the quality of the music on the inside of your building higher by reducing reverberant echoes that can muddy and destroy the audio clarity.

Restaurant acoustics generally call for preserving the privacy of conversations between patrons as they eat. A calming quiet atmosphere is the goal. This is accomplished with acoustic damping and often by applying a light covering noise such as soft background music.

Other buildings, like churches, need to make a single voice perfectly clear throughout a large space occupied by a large number of people. Proper placement of speakers goes a long way toward the proper design of church acoustics. The goal is to make sure that every seat gets as much direct sound from the speaker and as little reflected or echoed sound as possible. The echoes will be slightly time-delayed with respect to the direct sound so they tend to make it harder to understand human speech. Again the additions and proper placement of acoustic panels to absorb the sound and reduce echoes can help as well.

Other spaces have an even higher standard for room acoustics. A recording studio, for example, strives to control every aspect of the sound that reaches the recording microphones. Often, studio acoustics involve the heavy use of acoustic insulation along the walls to effectively eliminate all echoes within the room. A room designed expressly to test loudspeakers is often made so as to completely isolate the sound of a single speaker transducer from all extraneous noise and from all echoes. This type of room is called an anechoic chamber and often has walls completely composed of heavily angled acoustic insulation that is often a foot or more thick. Such rooms are useful for testing and measurement purposes, but the complete lack of echoes makes the room sound unnatural and strange for ordinary purposes.

In any of these cases, acoustic treatment should be designed into the room when it is being built. Absent that, post-construction room acoustic treatments can be made to correct problems that will inevitably occur in a room that was designed without acoustic considerations.

Digital Film vs. Traditional Film

Old Camera

Photography has been a well-established field for quite a while now, with technologies and techniques that have had a profound impact on how we see the world, interact with products, and conceive of creative ideas. One of the most major developments in photography has been the advent of digital film; while for most of its history photography was a very involved process generally undertaken only by professionals and serious hobbyists, most modern consumers own digital cameras for their personal use. It is thought, generally speaking, that digital film and cameras are superior to traditional formats and devices, for the simple reason that people seem to achieve better results with less intensive effort or time involvement. But for professionals as well as die-hard fans, this isn’t always the case. In fact, one of the major reasons which accounts for the perceived superiority of digital film –more attractive results– has more to do with the individual user than with the film itself or the camera being used. Digital photography requires significantly less procedural precision, and a smaller number of steps, to achieve a final result. This can be great for convenience, but is not always the answer for certain applications. In the field of web design, it can be difficult to determine whether digital or traditional film is better suited to a particular project. For web designers who understand the benefits and limitations of these formats, however, the choice is often more straightforward.

SEO experts know that keyword stuffing isn’t always the right way to increase a website’s value, and photography buffs understand that convenience isn’t always the best way to achieve an aesthetic. Just as search engine optimization involves a delicate balance of tools and components that can spoil if used incorrectly, so too can photographs lose their potential for maximum impact if created with an inappropriate method or material. Shots requiring a great degree of precision and clarity, or photograph sets portraying several similar images, are usually best represented through digital film, which delivers incredibly sharp image quality and can be a more agile medium for a series.

Traditional film is hailed by photographers for its distinct look and feel, as well as its more true-to-the-eye representation of gradation and white balance. Traditional film, used by an experienced and talented photographer, is often better able to capture the particular ambiance of a scene, especially when scenes such as a natural landscape outside of Austin Texas are portrayed. To achieve an image that portrays greater depth and substance, traditional film is frequently a superior option. Of course, choosing traditional film means a greater time involvement and number of steps will have to be taken into account. Though most major cities from New York to Austin TX are capable of delivering quality prints and film conversions, the majority of traditional film photographers prefer to develop their own film for further use. Because of the specific nuances of a given image, it is often important to have the original photographer convert their image to a new medium, rather than to delegate the task to a trained, yet unattached, lab professional. While the choice is ultimately up to the designer, digital and traditional film formats offer diverging benefits for making the most of an image.

Choose Leather for your Business Case

Quality leather briefcases can last as long as your career does with proper care. As leather ages it picks up character giving it an even more impressive look over time. The flexibility of leather allows it to be used for years or even decades without damage. Soft-sided leather document cases can be opened and closed thousands and thousands of times without worrying about hinges or fasteners.

When you are just beginning your professional career, you want to foster the appearance of maturity and professionalism. A cheap or low quality briefcase creates just the opposite impression. When you go to the office, look at the types of leather attaché cases used by the most senior employees and company officers. Chances are they use leather briefcases that they have had for many years.

Quality leather flexes and doesn’t crack even under stressful conditions. Think about a wallet for example. A wallet is opened and closed multiple times every day. When it’s not being opened, it’s usually sitting in someone’s back pocket bearing their entire weight every time they sit down. Yet a good leather wallet lasts for many years. Likewise, leather briefcases are made to last as well. They certainly receive less abuse that the typical wallet.

Business cases can be scuffed from time to time. Quality vegetable tanned leather can simply be buffed to remove the scuff marks and restore the surface to like new condition. Vegetable tanning means that only tannins derived from plant materials (such as the bark of oak or other trees) is used in the tanning process. Many modern tanners have chosen to move away from natural vegetable tanning in favor of the shortcut of using harsh modern chemicals in the tanning process. This may speed the process, but the quality of the leather suffers. If you are buying a leather piece that you expect to last for many years, insist on vegetable tanned leather. The color and character of the leather will also be richer and have a more traditional look with vegetable tanning.

Vinyl or vinyl-covered business cases can’t be expected to last very long at all. Vinyl tears fairly easily and tends to crack when repeated flexed or flexed in cold weather. If your briefcase is a throwaway and intended to be replaced often, then vinyl can be used, but leather briefcases are the only real choice for long term usage.

Everything that makes leather the best choice for a briefcase, applies to other items as well. Leather handbags, purses and shoulder bags should be used if you plan to keep and use the bag for more than one season. Leather is not only durable, but is one of those materials that when properly designed, doesn’t come and go with the latest fashion fads.
